A 12-year-old boy in Michigan allegedly robbed a gas station using a gun he stole from his grandfather.
The robbery took place at a Marathon gas station in Hartford at about 4 p.m. on June 1. Surveillance video shows the boy walking up to the cashier with a backpack in one hand and a gun in the other.
The boy quietly tells the cashier to put the money in the bag, but she asks, what? He tells her again, put the money in the bag.
The cashier can be heard asking, are you serious? At that point, the boy fires a shot into the ceiling.
The cashier can be seen giving him a bag from the safe, which Hartford Police said contained thousands of dollars in cash, and tells him to leave.
The boy was caught nearby, police said. The boy allegedly stole the gun from a locked cabinet in his home, according to police. The gun belonged to his grandfather, who is his guardian.
