Video shows rapper Desiigner at a Los Angeles gas station as several police officers seem to question him.
Filmmaker Tariq Nasheed captured the video without realizing until later that the man in the clip was Desiigner.
I had to make sure this brotha was ok, because #LAPD had an excessive amount of back-up surrounding him, Nasheed tweeted.
In the video, several Los Angeles Police Department officers can be seen surrounding a yellow vehicle at a gas pump, with a few facing Desiigner, who is standing several feet away. Nasheed walks by Desiigner on his way into the store, and asks him, You alright, bro? Desiigner says yes, then Nasheed asks the police, everything alright with this brother? He pointed out that they brought a lot of manpower.
If he committed a crime, they most likely would have him in cuffs already, Nasheed tweeted. So it looked like a typical case of anti-Black racial profiling.
The Panda rapper was reportedly pulled over for tinted windows and driving without a license, and issued a ticket.
