An Ohio state trooper evacuated neighbors after being the first to arrive at the scene of a fire at a vacant house in Toledo early Saturday, officials said.
Body-worn camera video released this week by the Ohio State Highway Patrol shows Trooper Casimir Von Sacken responding to a house fire shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday. The agency said he was giving some people a ride home after a traffic stop when he came upon the fire at an apparently vacant house.
Von Sacken reports the fire over the radio, and while waiting for Toledo Fire and Rescue to arrive, he runs to alert neighbors. Several neighbors evacuate the area through a cloud of smoke just before firefighters arrive on the scene.
