Police in London closed off Parliament Street and evacuated Whitehall, a stretch of government offices in Westminster, in response to a suspicious package on Tuesday.
Video recorded by a bystander who was at a bus stop in the evacuation area shows Metropolitan Police cordoning off the area. Pedestrian traffic was also blocked to Downing Street.
Police brought a bomb disposal robot, and witnesses reported hearing the bang of the controlled explosion. According to police, the item was found to be non suspicious.
