Three police officers in Texas helped free a Rottweiler who became stuck under a shed earlier this month, likely after chasing a possum.
The owners of Roxie, a 95-pound Rottweiler, called 911 late on the evening of July 9 to report the dog was trapped under a shed on Payte Lane in North Richland Hills.
When officers arrived at the scene, they were unable to coax Roxie out the way she came. It was believed she became stuck after chasing a possum, police said.
Body-worn camera video shared by the North Richland Hills Police Department shows Officers Allday and Saunders pulling up the floor of the shed to reach the trapped dog.
“After nearly 30 minutes of carefully sawing and prying the flooring away around the dog, Roxie was freed,” police said. The dog was uninjured, just a bot hot and excited from the commotion, police said.
“Big kudos to Officers Saunders and Allday for their hard work and to Officer Thorpe for supporting his teammates and sharing the story,” police said.
